Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions
Are you a licensed and ordained officiant in Texas?

Yes. I am ordained through the Universal Life Church (Sacramento, CA) and legally authorized to perform wedding ceremonies in Texas under Texas Family Code §2.202. Your marriage license will be signed and filed after the ceremony.

What areas of North Texas do you serve?

I proudly serve Dallas, Denton, Jack, Parker, Tarrant, Wise, and surrounding counties. I provide mobile officiant services and travel to your home, venue, or location of your choice. Travel fees apply for locations beyond the mileage included in each package.

Do you perform same-sex marriages?

Absolutely. I am a strong advocate for marriage equality and fully support and perform same-sex marriages. My services are open to all couples regardless of race, faith, background, gender, sexual orientation, or lifestyle.

What other ceremonies do you perform?

In addition to weddings, I perform baptisms, christenings, child dedications, funerals, last rites, burials, hand fasting ceremonies, vow renewals, and other alternate ceremonies. Contact me with the details of your event for custom pricing.

Pricing & Packages
How much does it cost to hire you as a wedding officiant?

I offer three packages:

  • Elopement – $150: Short ceremony (~10–15 min), up to 10 guests, within the primary service area.
  • Standard Wedding – $350: Full custom ceremony script, consultation, license filing, travel up to 65 miles outside Jack and Wise counties.
  • Premium – $500: Everything in Standard, plus rehearsal attendance and unlimited script revisions.

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date and is applied toward your total balance. See the Pricing page for full details.

Do you charge extra for travel?

Each package includes a set travel range. For locations beyond the included mileage, a travel fee of $1.00 per mile (round trip) applies.

Is there an extra charge for holiday weddings?

Yes. An additional $100 holiday rate applies for weddings on New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, and July 4th.

Will you file our marriage license after the ceremony?

Yes. Filing of the marriage license is included in the Standard and Premium packages. After the ceremony I will sign the license as the officiant and ensure it is properly returned to the county clerk's office.

Ceremony Types & Customization
Can you perform a non-religious or civil ceremony?

Yes. I specialize in non-denominational ceremonies and can perform fully secular, civil, or spiritual ceremonies — whatever reflects you as a couple. Religion is never assumed or required.

Do you perform elopements or courthouse-style ceremonies?

Yes. The Elopement package ($150) is designed for this — a short, legal ceremony of approximately 10–15 minutes with up to 10 guests, including signing of the marriage license.

Can I write my own vows?

Yes, and I encourage it. Personal vows are one of the most meaningful parts of a ceremony. I can incorporate your own vows into the script, suggest traditional alternatives, or help you write something from scratch during our consultation.

Can the ceremony include cultural or religious traditions?

Yes. Whether you want a unity candle, sand ceremony, hand fasting, a specific prayer, or cultural traditions meaningful to your family, I will work with you to weave those elements into your ceremony script.

Booking Process
How far in advance should I book?

As early as possible — Saturday and Sunday dates fill quickly. I recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance for standard ceremonies, and further ahead during peak wedding season (spring and fall). A $50 non-refundable deposit secures your date.

What are your available hours?
  • Monday – Friday: 5:30 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Special hours are available upon advanced booking.

What happens after I submit a booking request?

I will contact you to confirm availability, discuss your ceremony details, and collect the $50 deposit to hold your date. From there, we will schedule a consultation to begin working on your ceremony script.

How do I get started?

Head over to the Booking Request page, fill out the form with your date, location, and package preference, and I'll be in touch promptly.
